• Curator's comments

  With variations after the 1637 painting by Rembrandt in the Musée du Louvre, Paris, inv.no.1736 (Bredius 503); a painted copy with these variations attributed to School of Rembrandt is in a private collection in Switzerland (Corpus of Rembrandt Paintings III.A.121, copy 2).
