Lena Bergström - probabil cel mai premiat designer de la Orrefors - a proiectat seria „Pastillo” în 2004 (v. foto 6!). Este o ediție limitată.

Lamps, textiles, vases, bowls, art glass... Lena Bergström has a solid design career behind her. Her works have been exhibited in cities across the world such as Tokyo, New York and Sao Paolo, as well as in her native Sweden. Glass is not the only material Lena has worked with. She received her artistic education at the College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. She majored in Textile, art and design. Ever since, she has worked with design and educated herself even further. Lena started working for Orrefors in 1994 and has been very productive, in particular when it comes to designing items for everyday use.

She has also designed art glass. One example of her art glass is the apple-core, which was inspired by Ingeborg Lundin's "Apple". The apple-core can be seen at the gallery that is connected to Orrefors Crystal Bar. This bar is also one of the public decoration commissions that she has been given throughout the years.

Through her clean, clear and award winning idiom she shows that utility goods does doesn't need to be boring. Using a number of techniques ranging from the Fuga technique (centrifuging the melted glass) to cutting the glass she has created beautiful and original things. The series Mingle is a fantastic example of ingenious design. The edge of the bowls is not horizontal, but elegantly tilted. Mingle duo was by the way chosen by Condé Nast as "Holiday Gift of the Year" 2005. The vase ranges Havanna , Drop , Squeeze and Velvet have won the award "Excellent Swedish Design". Lena's works have been featured by both ELLE Deco in Sweden and internationally. In 2002 Lena won the ELLE Deco International Design Award for the art glass collection Planet. In 2003 Swedish ELLE Deco chose to reward her with the Design Award for the series Debox .
